SHINE said it was selected for the US Department of Energy's Genesis Mission, which the company describes as a more-than-$5-billion national initiative to double America's scientific output through AI. SHINE takes two roles: prime recipient on 'AI-Guided Fuel Cycle Facility Optimization', a Phase I project with Argonne National Laboratory as technical partner, and a contributing role on a second project. Sirius is an impedance-matched Marx generator (IMG) — a pulsed-power architecture that synchronises electromagnetic waves directly onto a common transmission line in a single step rather than inductively stacking voltage through conventional Marx banks, making it simpler, more efficient and easier to scale. It is the same core technology Pacific Fusion is scaling for its own system. CTO and co-founder Keith LeChien framed the campaign as evidence that national-lab technology can be validated by repeated testing and scaled quickly by industry, supporting both surging AI and electrification demand and high-yield experimental capability for stockpile stewardship.

A definitive proxy is the point at which the transaction goes to a shareholder vote, making this the most advanced procedural step to date toward TAE — a nearly 30-year-old private fusion company — obtaining a public listing. As of the end of August 2026 no Form 8-K reporting completion of the acquisition had been filed, so the transaction remained pending: the August 8-Ks carry items 2.02 (results) and 7.01 (Reg FD) only.
New Mexico's Economic Development Department approved a Job Training Incentive Program (JTIP) award of up to $2,412,426 to Pacific Fusion as part of a round of roughly $12m spread across 27 companies, alongside Boeing and Stack Infrastructure. It is the company's second and substantially larger JTIP package: the first, approved in November 2025, covered 46 trainees at an average hourly wage of $61 for up to $1,476,806. The award subsidises training for the workforce at the Albuquerque Mesa del Sol research and manufacturing campus and the Los Lunas build centre, and is a state-funded operating subsidy rather than company capital.
