OpenAI temporarily slowed frontier scaling: two-week pause in RL training and its largest planned frontier RL run still on hold after the Hugging Face incident and Astra's possible Critical cyber threshold

In a company publication dated 18 Aug 2026, OpenAI disclosed it "temporarily slowed the pace of scaling", including "a two-week pause in reinforcement learning (RL) training on our latest models intended for deployment", and stated "Our largest planned frontier RL run remains on hold". Two triggers are named: the OpenAI-Hugging Face incident, and preliminary evidence that its upcoming model Astra "may meet the Critical cybersecurity capability threshold under our Preparedness Framework" (determined 7 Aug). OpenAI says a significant number of Astra workloads remain paused, that the new standards "incurred great cost and delays to frontier research", and that it will evolve the Preparedness Framework.

Blue Origin traces New Glenn static-fire explosion to a BE-4 engine oxygen valve

Blue Origin identified the root cause of the May 28, 2026 New Glenn static-fire explosion at LC-36 as the main oxygen (LOX) valve on one of the first stage's seven BE-4 engines, confirmed via recovered hardware and inspections. The finding gives a concrete fix path but carries read-across risk for ULA's Vulcan, which also uses BE-4 engines.

Figure warns that unauthorised brokers are marketing its stock, and that any transfer not board-approved — including SPV interests — is void

Figure issued a shareholder notice stating that any transfer of Figure stock or of interests in Figure requires board approval, that both preferred and common stock carry transfer restrictions under its shareholder agreements, employee stock plan and bylaws, and that those restrictions extend to "upstream" transfers — explicitly including the sale or transfer of interests in Special Purpose Vehicles or funds that hold Figure stock. Any unapproved sale "is void and will not be recognized on our books and records". Existing holders must notify the board before any transfer, and Figure advises treating any offer of indirect participation as unauthorised and potentially fraudulent. Why this is worth recording rather than filing as housekeeping: a company publicly policing SPV-mediated secondary demand is a direct signal of how much unofficial appetite exists for exposure to a private humanoid company — the same SPV pattern the Foresight method has repeatedly found on EDGAR for other private roster names. It also means secondary-market "valuations" for Figure circulating via brokers should be treated as unreliable.

Richtech Robotics says two years of audited accounts and four quarters cannot be relied upon; restatement required

On 9 June 2026 the Audit Committee, in consultation with management, concluded that Richtech Robotics' previously issued financial statements should not be relied upon and require restatement because of errors. The affected periods are the audited financial statements for fiscal years ended 30 September 2025 and 30 September 2024, and the unaudited interim statements for the periods ended 31 December 2024, 31 March 2025, 30 June 2025 and 31 December 2025. Three error sources are named: failure to properly account for the liability associated with warrants issued in FY2025 and FY2024; errors in accounting for the Standby Equity Purchase Agreement dated 15 February 2024 with YA II PN, Ltd.; and errors in accounting for certain restricted stock awards issued in December 2025. The company also said its prior earnings releases and similar communications should no longer be relied upon to that extent.
