Anthropic signs a cloud-computing agreement worth about $35bn with Nvidia-backed Lambda
Anthropic has signed a cloud-computing deal worth about $35 billion with Lambda, the Nvidia-backed AI cloud provider, according to the Wall Street Journal, with Reuters carrying the report the same day. The WSJ reports that Nvidia holds the lease on the Texas data centre involved. Neither Anthropic nor Lambda has published the agreement on its own newsroom, and the WSJ account is attributed to a person familiar rather than to either company. Lambda separately closed a $926m senior secured term loan B facility on 27 August 2026 to fund GPU deployment for an investment-grade customer, which it did announce itself. This record is kept STRICTLY DISTINCT from the separate $35bn Anthropic CHIP FINANCING reported by Bloomberg on 9 June 2026, which concerned Google backstopping lease payments across five data centres - the identical headline figure makes the two easy to conflate and they are different events.
