Anthropic is in talks to buy Nvidia-backed Israeli AI startup Decart for about $6 billion, in what would be Anthropic's largest acquisition to date, aimed at making Claude run faster and more efficiently. Multiple outlets stress the deal is not finalized and talks could fall through.
Scale AI announced the acquisition of ICG Solutions, a defence technology firm specialising in real-time streaming data analytics. Scale said the deal "marks a milestone in our mission to provide the U.S. Department of War and the broader Intelligence Community with the most advanced, reliable AI infrastructure available," and involves formally integrating ICG's technology. OpenAI acquired TBPN (Technology Business Programming Network), the daily live tech talk show hosted by entrepreneurs Jordi Hays and John Coogan. The announcement was a message from Fidji Simo to staff: OpenAI argues 'the standard communications playbook just doesn't apply to us' and that rather than recreating TBPN's audience it would buy and scale it. TBPN sits within OpenAI's Strategy org reporting to Chris Lehane, while continuing to run its own programming, choose its own guests and make its own editorial decisions — editorial independence explicitly written into the agreement. OpenAI also said it intends to use the team's communications and marketing capability beyond the show. TBPN statement from Jordi Hays acknowledged having been 'critical of the industry at times'.
