Amazon completes $50B investment in OpenAI, fully funding the February commitment
In a July 31 SEC filing, Amazon confirmed it invested the remaining $21.3B of its $50B OpenAI commitment (after $15B in Q1 and $13.7B in Q2), completing the round announced Feb 27. As part of the deal, AWS becomes the exclusive third-party cloud provider for OpenAI's Frontier program, with prior infrastructure agreements that could total $100B over eight years.
